These alignment rods/shafts/sticks come in a variety of calibers and help you visually see that your suppressor is on straight (that's what she said). A misaligned suppressor can cause a baffle strike and just plain ruin your day. Who wants to have to wait to have a suppressor repaired especially after that last fiasco...rhymes with head and ends with air.

Simply install you favorite suppressor. Insert long shaft into small hole. Verify everything is straight. Party like its 1776!!!

Do I need an alignment rod for an AR15? I thought only AKs and imported firearms had issues?

Alignment Rods check alignment of every piece in the system; The barrel, muzzle device, suppressor mount and suppressor. In an ideal situation everything would be perfect, but with multiple manufacturers and tolerances involved you could have out-of-spec threads, a suppressor with crooked threads the list goes on. You'd be surprised by what we have found. AR15s are much less likely to have an issue, but it's worth checking. It also verifies that you installed the suppressor properly too. A baffle strike doesn't just ruin a suppressor, it can be a huge safety issue for you and anyone you are shooting with.
